I got this idea from Kristen at Ladybug's Teacher Files. I am calling mine "Tracking Sticks," so my ELL kids can use them to help with tracking and following along as they read. I think they turned out very cute! :)
First, I cut card stock into squares, and also cut one yellow folder into strips. Then, I taped the yellow highlighting strip to one of the squares, and glued another square on top. I added a cupcake sticker, and covered the square with clear tape to make them sturdier and to protect them.
I will let my ELL students keep them in their Avenues text book as a bookmark, and then use them when we read.
I love this idea! Thank you so much for sharing!
