Adorable Watercolor Fishbowls

Wednesday, June 27, 2012
I absolutely love being creative and artistic!  Teaching is all about being creative with lessons, curriculum, technology, etc...  During the 2011-2012 school year I did so many Art activities with my 4th graders, if only I had my blog up and running.  Oh well, I'm busy working on making it Fabulous during my summer vacation!

Here are some pictures and the steps for creating these adorable little fishbowls my 4th graders worked on the last few days before summer break.

First, we drew a fishbowl shape on construction paper, and used crayons to color the background.  Then we used watercolors to paint the water in our fishbowls.

The next day, we painted our hand with Tempra paint and stamped it in the center of our bowl for our fish shape.  We glued on a wiggly eye, and beans for gravel or rocks.

Finally, the next day we used black markers to add details and scales to our fish.  They all did such a wonderful job, and their fishbowls turned out so adorable!  Plus our fish are the easiest class pets to take care of!
